3D MACHINING

1st and 2nd tier supplier to today's OEMs, especially in the Automotive sector, are seeing increasing pressure to supply mixed-technology sub assemblies instead of individual specialised components. Alongside this they are being asked to develop these products 'in-house' and with ever decreasing lead times.

Working from 3D solid models, Edwards Precision are able to generate machining data and send it directly to our high-speed machining centres, producing complex prototype parts without the need for expensive forging or casting tools. This facility has allowed our customers to submit such parts to OEMs in weeks rather than months and with a fraction of the development cost incurred.

Where modifications are required, the model can be changed, the programs updated and new parts machined in less time than it would previously have taken merely to strip down conventional dies and decide the alterations required.

With no 'minimum quantity' forging or casting runs to consider, wasted time, money and resources are minimised and customers better served.
